Helsingborg and Helsingør are located on both sides of Øresund at the narrowest point of the strait where it is only 4 km wide. Historical fortresses located in both cities – Kronborg in Helsingør and Kärnan in Helsingborg played a key part in Baltic trading which effectively contributed to enrichment of Danish Kingdom treasury.
