The tallest building of Scandinavia located on the shores of the Øresund Strait. Tower has 54 floors. The block of the building turns upward at 10 degrees which means that a turn from the base to the top is 90 degrees!

KRONBORG

Impressive fortress in the Strait of Øresund. It used to be a threat to sailors crossing the strait, today it is associated with two legendary figures: Danish prince Hamlet and Ogier the Dane. The Kronborg Castle is called Elsinore in Shakespeare’s drama which is associated with the English pronunciation of Helsingør. Shakespeare traditions are still cherished in the castle. Staging of Hamlet attract theatre lovers from around the world. The symbolic Hamlet’s tomb as well as Hamlet’s garden are among attractions connected with the famous play. Kronborg Castle has been inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List.

OGIER THE DANE

Legendary knight and a national hero in Denmark. He is said to dwell in the castle of Kronborg. Ogier the Dane became a ‘king under the mountain’. He will woke up from his sleep when the country of Denmark is in danger, then he will rise up and save the nation.

HELSINGBORG AND HELSINGØR

Helsingborg and Helsingør are located on both sides of Øresund at the narrowest point of the strait where it is only 4 km wide. Historical fortresses located in both cities – Kronborg in Helsingør and Kärnan in Helsingborg played a key part in Baltic trading which effectively contributed to enrichment of Danish Kingdom treasury. After the war between Danmark and Sweden, as the result of the Treaty of Roskilde in 1658, the southern part of the Scandinavian Peninsula along with Helsingborg came under Swedish rule. Helsingør located on Zealand Island remained in Denmark.

KULLABERG

Nature reserve located on the peninsula in the Kattegat Strait. It is famous for a high cliffed coast and characteristic rock formations of amazing shapes. A paradise for ornithologists. Peninsula has been inhabited in the Stone Age. Numerous stone circles, burial mounds, remains of prehistoric settlements enrich the natural values of the reserve.
